ISlide Back in The Tank

In honor of the re-airing of our Shark Tank episode tonight, we only thought it fitting to share our blog from last Fall, recapping our behind-the-scenes approach to designing ISlides for each Shark. Tune in tonight at 8:00pm EST to check us out......as well as the 3 stages of JK's crying face.
**********
This past Friday (9/23/16), we were on the season premiere of Season 8 of Shark Tank. It was an unbelievable, unforgettable night. A lot of people saw the episode, but what a lot of people didn’t see was the all the prep that went into it. This blog is about one of the coolest things we got do as we prepared to pitch: make VERY unique, one-of-a-kind, ISlides for each Shark.

In honor of having received an offer from him, we'll begin with Robert Herjavec’s ISlides.

When he’s not running his cyber-security company, Robert is a HUGE car guy. And we’re not just talking about buying them; we’re talking about racing them too. Professionally. To say this is something he is passionate about would be an understatement, so we knew this had to be a huge part of the design. We started by designing the top straps with a checkerboard pattern, inspired by the checkered flag at the end of car races.

Centered on each slide, on top of the checkerboard, is an “RH” logo. This was inspired by the Ferrari logo, which is what he races with Team Herjavec. We switched the colors up to match his Croatian heritage.

Finally, the side personalization for Robert featured his last name on one side, and a lock on the other, which represents his cyber-security business. Robert also happens to be a huge fan of slide sandals, and must have really liked these, because he put them right on. He also offered us a deal, which we ultimately declined, but hopefully that doesn’t change his opinion about the slides themselves.

I just watched this episode (Dec. 13, 2018) and when you rejected the offer, everyone in the room was wondering why you didn’t accept but I knew that the company would do well and could see your vision. I immediately searched the web to see where you were now, and clearly, the Sharks missed out.
